Understanding Water & Flood Damage Repair
PHASE 1: Water Removal
The first phase of flood & water damage repair is water pumping (if needed) & moisture removal. There are several different processes for water removal, with the selected method generally being based on the size of the target area and the environment itself. The drying process may involve industrial level dehumidifiers or high-powered air moving blowers. A suitable drying solution, based on the environment, will be determined before initiating the drying process.
PHASE 2: Assessment & Salvage
By quickly removing the water and drying the affected areas, we’ll drastically increase our chances of saving flooring, walls, cabinets, and other parts of the environment’s structure. Once the site is dried, the potential for mold growth and further damage will be limited. Afterward, we can assess which parts of the structure we’ll need to repair and which areas we can save, limiting your potential expenditures.
Time is of the essence when it comes to water damage repair. The longer the affected area goes without being dried, the worse the damage becomes, which leads to a more costly repair, mold, microbial and/or bacterial growth.
PHASE 3: Restoration
Once the water-damaged area is certified as dry & ready for repair, we can begin work repairing the damaged areas.
Once we’ve entirely dried a water-damaged area, we usually find sheetrock that will need to be replaced, carpet, and padding that may need removal. In some cases, unforeseen damages to electrical wiring, data networks, and insulation from walls may occur. If damaged, they will also need to be extracted and replaced. If this is the case, we’re ready to make the necessary repairs.
